These Maps Reveal the Hidden Structures of ‘Choose Your Own Adventure’ Books

Here is an interesting article detailing some of the Choose Your Own Adventure (CYOA) structures, with some interesting insights and commentary summing up a few of the examples.

A number of people have expressed skepticism at my including Choose Your Own Adventure style books in my research on the effects of role-playing games (RPGs), and their potential uses to achieve educational and therapeutic goals. But as I explain in my presentations, lectures, and classes, what I like to categorize all books like CYOA as " Solo Adventure Books & Modules" (SABM), while they are lacking in many ways compared to tabletop, live-action, and computer-based RPGs, I still believe their have their value and use for various populations.This article is a nice bit of analysis.
