RPG Therapeutics training & certification

Posted by Hawke Robinson at December 31. 2016

Chugging along nicely, albeit in fits and starts, on the training and certification courses.

A question occurred to me. While John is looking to be the first certified trainer, what of myself? As the person creating all the training and certification programs, am I able to be certified myself? I can ace all the tests from memory, but is it a conflict? But it would be kind of weird if the person creating all the certs, doesn't have any of the certs?

Do I just go ahead and list the certs by my name, since I created them, or would that be inappropriate?

What do you think?

I think that you taking the tests would be redundant and even questionable. I would simply list the certification and instead of a grade it would list "author". What I feel would be more useful would be to some way to certify the program it's self. A third party that overlooks your documentation and proesses. This could be a professor (or panel of professors and other related professionals) or could be professional certification organization like J.D. Power does for financial institutions.

One possible organization to certify the course would be http://exemplarglobal.org/

Information on how to certify the course its self http://exemplarglobal.org/certification/what-we-offer/certify-my-course/

I will check those organization out as well. The two organizations I was considering, but only after we have very much ironed all the details out, and have enough people certified to make worthwhile, are: Institute of Credentialing Excellence (ICE), Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).

Since it looks like they are using ISO as a template for their (ExemplarGlobal), I'll see what I can do, during revisions of the programs, to follow some of the ISO guidelines:https://www.iso.org/obp/ui/#iso:std:iso:29990:ed-1:v1:en

Also, apparently I was thinking along the same lines as you suggested, that I list myself as the creator of the program, so following the cert format we used for you, but listing the creation status and such: http://rpgtherapeutics.com/services/rpg-training-certification/verification/id-20040910-222801

FYI, I fixed the issue that was preventing editing of personal Profiles. You can edit yours now, and add portrait if you wish.
